Security

Change email, update password, and request account deletion in Cockpit account security.

Security

Use Account → Security in the sidebar to manage sign-in email, password, and account deletion.

Change email

  1. Open the Change E-Mail (or Change email) section.
  2. Enter your new email address in the field (the product requires a valid email format).
  3. Submit with Update E-Mail / Update email.

Cockpit sends a confirmation message to the new address. You must open the link in that email to complete the change; until then, the update may not be fully applied.

Change password

  1. Open Change Password.
  2. Enter a new password (minimum length and rules are shown in the UI, e.g. at least 8 characters).
  3. Confirm the password in the second field; it must match the first.
  4. Submit with Update Password.

While the request runs, you may see an updating state. On success, a confirmation message is shown. If the passwords do not match or validation fails, the form shows the corresponding error before submitting.

Delete my account

The Account deletion section explains that requesting deletion starts a process where your account will be removed within a defined period (as stated in the product copy), after which login is no longer possible and data is permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Read the deletion message carefully.
  2. Use Delete my account (or equivalent) to start the flow.
  3. Complete any confirmation steps the dialog requires.

If you are unsure, export personal data or transfer organization ownership before deleting the account.
